Minnesota Maniac

The Minnesota Maniac team started in 2001.

We started out running at 7:50s and over the years have improved little by little, until now. Now we run 6:70s and over 200 mph. My son is my crew chief and head mechanic. My oldest daughter is my backup and drive back girl. My wife is the team video recorder. Our whole family

works together when we go to the track.

We started out match racing anything that the tracks

put us against. Now Steve Elliot and Steve Samuelson have assembled The Hustlers Duster Funny car so we can go match racing together. There are

not many nostalgia Funny cars in or near Minnesota !

 Our car has as follows:

Engine 475 c.i. KB hemi, Veney heads. Littlefield 1471

Blower, Enderle 3 rib bug catcher. Aft 3 disc clutch, lenco 3 speed

trans and summers brothers 9 inch full floater rear, 4.56 gears. The car rolls on American 5 spokes in the front and ET slots in the rear.

The chassis was the original super shops give away

Plymouth arrow Built by Pat Foster. Since, it was owned by Tom

Hoover and Doc Halladay. The body was an A/fuel funny car owned and ran by Bill Moore around the northwest coast around’ 73.

The new paint job was designed and painted by us. The only close call that we have had was at BIR. While we were testing, on a hard launch, the steering wheel came off in my hand and the car then decided to bounce off the guardrail and took a little paint with it.

At present we are putting a new Cuda body and new paint on the car.
